Billy The Kid ?

Montgomery County Museum MusingsBy Tyler Williams, InternGeneral Lew Wallace Study MuseumIt may seem inconceivable that a murdering and womanizing thief could become as much a part of American heritage as Abraham Lincoln. But if you have watched movies or read books, chances are you’ve heard of him. He is none other then Billy the Kid, the infamous outlaw of New Mexico who got his moniker because of his young age.

Twister!!!!

I subscribe to a great magazine called Midwestern Living. There are just a few subjects it usually doesn’t cover. One of them - tornadoes............Several years ago after seeing the Movie TWISTER I began to ask myself a serious question like why am I living in the Midwest? Of course one should consider that I spent my youth in Florida, a.k.a. the land of the hurricane. Many people from the Midwest have told me that they would much rather brave a tornado than go through a hurricane. These folks have obviously not seen TWISTER which was guaranteed to make you rush out and buy retirement property anywhere that did not have a ‘tornado alley” address.

Need a discount, I have a card for that somewhere!

We at My County Magazine try to accent the positive in our articles. Today we will try to find this happy place once again. The bi-annual cleaning of the wallet and all that is between the folds of leather. We start with the essentials, one driver’s license, an auto insurance card, health insurance card, a bank / credit cards and photographs of family and friends. These are the things I want to carry with me on a day to day basis. Then we go over to the side that you would normally place credit cards and such. The problem starts here because I don’t have any room for credit cards for all the store discount cards or frequent shopper cards from the drug store, the grocers, hardware, and even the movies that are in my way.
